5 Halloween Ideas

halloween

It’s getting close to that spooky time of year…Halloween- the evening where you can appear wickedly frightening, compelling and dramatic. Here are some ideas!

1.The Addams Family

“They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky”…The Addams family.  Create a chillingly gorgeous appearance by showing the power of black- eye shadow, lipstick and dress. For this look, embrace darkness and use your face as a canvas for terrifying beauty. You’ll need to look a porcelain white hue, so grab a white powder and skip your daily foundation. If you want to add some cutting definition to your complexion then you can add a dark coloured bronzer or even black eye shadow to create killer cheeks. For your eyebrows, ensure they are sharp and you can exaggerate them for added intensity. If you want to keep to the dark colour scheme, then use a black pencil to fill in the details and make them stand out in the shadows.

Make your eyes bold by applying white shadow to the lid and placing black shadow to the crease. If you want to continue the gloomy shades then carry the eye shadow underneath your eye. This will truly open up your eyes. You can also add eyeliner; create a subtle flick of definition. To create Wednesday Addams’s look, use the blackest of black lipstick, applying a heavy layer. Keep to the monochrome and wear a black dress with white collar. Or if you are going for Morticia’s makeup then choose your fave shade and apply, which looks beautiful with a long black dress.

2.Doll

Create an eerie atmosphere with your look. Be enchanting by opting for a shade lighter than your skin tone and add a hint of hue by adding pink blusher to the apples of your cheeks. You can keep it simplistically stunning or add cracks to your face. To achieve this visual effect you can use black face paint or liquid black eyeliner and draw lines of different lengths. You can also fill in areas to give the appearance of broken pieces, almost like marble. The emphasis should be your eyes. Enlarge them by coating layers of lengthy mascara or placing false eyelashes onto your top and bottom lash. Plus you can add white pencil to your waterline. To finish it off add a pink or red lip; you can foundation the corners of your mouth to make your mouth look smaller and almost heart-shaped. You can wear a pinafore, dress or tutu skirt…cute and creepy.

3.Witch

Be bewitching. Witch makeup can be created uniquely; there are so many different approaches you can take. You can paint your face a gripping green or keep it pale. You can even design your face with cobweb details, winding from the corner of your eyes. You can use vivid eye shadows such as dark purple or strong green for a more pigmented feel. If you want to add some lip colour, you can match the shade to your eyes. Cauldron is optional.

4.Vampire

If you desire to create a blood-curdling look, then you should be a vampire! Gruesome and seductive, make your skin tone pale to create a ghostly face. With the eyes, you can use colours or go for jet black. Use your brush to extend the colour underneath your eye for that deadly appeal. Red is a traditional colour when it comes to vampires. I suggest using a striking red lipstick- so vampy, you can drag the colour out for dripping blood or use fake blood. Bloody brilliant!

5.Skeleton

For those who love skulls and Day of The Dead, this one’s for you! Use white cream makeup/face paint as a base for your face. Use a liquid liner or paint to sculpt out features such as the eyes and cheekbones. Shade them in for extra depth and add shade for a sense of realism. You can even smudge with brushes or your fingertips for some drama. For the teeth draw vertical lines and add little V shapes at the top. You can add colours to the skeletal structure and designs such as cobwebs and patterns. Get creative!

This fright night, create your look that is spellbinding or sinister.
